To whet your appetites, we present a summary of the previous South Australian BSA National.

2007 National Rally Goolwa

The 3rd National BSA Rally was held in the Lower Murray Darling Lakes area of Goolwa South Australia and was a great success for the BSA clubs of Australia particularly South Australia.

The weekend started with rain on the Friday night (40 MM) more than there was for quite some time, but it was really needed.

The number of entrants was very good with about 160 motorcycles and about 250 people to share what turned out to be a great weekend albeit marred a little because of the cold and a little rain. The rain generally held off on the Saturday and provided the opportunity for a really great ride along the coastal road through Victor Harbor and across to Cape Jervis where lunch was taken amid views from the mainland to Kangaroo Island. After lunch it was on again south to Normanville and Yankalilla, Myponga and through some lovely dairy farming areas back to Goolwa for a happy hour, judging and then to dinner at the South Lakes Golf club with 256 people crowding the dining room.

The Sunday ride actually started with a display of entrants and some invited guests on the Goolwa Wharf. This lasted for approximately one hour before setting off more inland some 35 kms to Mt. Compass where the news that there was some water across a ford where we were supposed to go and close to the lunch venue. This water was about 75 – 100 mm deep and was (after consulting the people) proven to be one of the highlights of the ride with many different ways to cross water being shown.

The local council really supported the event extremely well and provided as much as was asked for to make such a good weekend.
